The country’s approach highlights a commitment to developing robust domestic AI capabilities, ensuring ethical technology use, and enhancing its global competitiveness. This commitment reflects a broader international trend where AI, particularly generative AI, is rapidly evolving and transforming various industries.
The Thai government, led by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE), is at the forefront of this AI push. Recognising the transformative potential of AI technologies, the government aims to build a vital AI infrastructure that supports both economic growth and ethical technology use.
This vision is articulated through the development of the National AI Action Plan Committee, which has been augmented with a new subcommittee explicitly focused on the AI economy.
