The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has signed an agreement with Suzhou Kowloon Hospital to establish the “Suzhou Kowloon Hospital – The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Innovation Incubation Platform”. This three-year collaboration aims to accelerate the development and application of medical technology innovations, enhancing the healthcare industry’s capabilities and providing better treatment for patients.
PolyU is focused on translating cutting-edge research into practical solutions, this partnership aligns with its commitment to fostering technological advancements, particularly in medical and healthcare services. The Hospital will support this initiative by leveraging its clinical resources to facilitate the translation of PolyU’s research into real-world applications.
The agreement was signed by prominent figures from both institutions, including the Deputy Council Chairman of PolyU, and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Kowloon Group. PolyU’s Vice President (Research and Innovation), and the Vice President of the Hong Kong Kowloon Group also attended the signing ceremony.
This collaboration aims to establish a biomedical technology innovation incubator to drive advancements in medical engineering and artificial intelligence (AI), with a particular focus on integrating AI into healthcare for diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. By combining AI and engineering expertise, PolyU and Suzhou Kowloon Hospital seek to translate innovative research into practical solutions for clinicians and patients alike.
The hospital will offer its clinical resources to support PolyU’s research teams and startups in developing novel medical products. The incubator model will bridge the gap between technological research and clinical validation, ensuring new products are both practical and safe for use in healthcare environments.
The collaboration will also promote clinical application research, combining PolyU’s research capabilities with Suzhou Kowloon Hospital’s clinical expertise.
