The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), with a global leader in forensic-driven cybersecurity, has launched the Certified Security Professional for Artificial Intelligence (CSPAI) programme. This initiative marks the introduction of the first ANAB-accredited AI security certification in India, aimed at equipping professionals with the skills to securely integrate AI into business applications while adhering to sustainable practices.
The launch event took place at the company’s headquarters in Bengaluru, where the Director General of CERT-In, Dr Sanjay Bahl, and the company’s Founder and CEO presented the CSPAI certificates to cybersecurity professionals. This Public-Private Partnership (PPP) marks a significant milestone in advancing AI security in India.
Dr Sanjay Bahl stressed the growing need for AI security amid evolving threats. He highlighted the CSPAI programme as a timely initiative that equips professionals with essential skills to understand and defend AI systems. As the first ANAB-accredited AI Security Certification, it addresses the rapid advancements in AI, offering a comprehensive curriculum to ensure secure AI deployment in business environments. The programme is also expected to create opportunities in emerging AI job roles, meeting the rising demand for skilled professionals.
Dr Bahl further highlighted CERT-In’s ongoing efforts to foster Public-Private Partnerships, with the CSPAI programme being a notable achievement in this direction. By bringing together government and industry expertise, the programme aims to raise the standards of AI security and help organisations better manage AI-related risks.
The Founder and CEO of the company outlined the vision for the CSPAI programme, highlighting its alignment with the company’s broader cybersecurity initiatives, including the recently launched Cyber Nalanda project. He underscored the programme’s commitment to addressing critical security challenges both in India and globally.
By equipping professionals with the knowledge and tools to secure AI systems, the CSPAI programme aims to contribute to a safer digital future, fostering innovation and responsibility in the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
He also noted that certified professionals from the CSPAI programme would play a pivotal role in strengthening organisational security postures, reducing the likelihood of breaches, and building greater trust with customers and stakeholders. He emphasised the growing need for AI security expertise as AI technologies become integral to business operations across industries.
The Vice President of Forensics and R&D at the company delivered a detailed presentation on the CSPAI programme, explaining its unique features. The programme is designed to address the specific security challenges posed by AI technologies, with a focus on protecting AI systems from various cyber threats. The curriculum includes modules on AI risk management, secure AI system development, and the ethical considerations surrounding AI deployment.
The CSPAI certification is ANAB-accredited, ensuring that it meets international standards for cybersecurity education. By completing this programme, professionals will be better equipped to navigate the complex landscape of AI security, helping organisations maintain the integrity and safety of their AI-powered systems.
