Defence Technology Institute
Defence Technology Institute or DTI is public organization under supervision of Minister of Defence founded on January 2001. The primary mission is to conduct research and development on major defence equipment program, promote the Ministry of Defence and domestic capability and attaining self-reliance on defence technology. Its Master Plan and Technology Roadmap are inextricably aligned with Royal Thai Armed Forces’ Defence Modernization Plan aiming at realistic development.
DTI aims to achieve several planned technological objectives, they are, combat platforms and weapon systems, unmanned vehicle systems, simulation and virtual training, rockets and guided weapon systems, information and communication technology. Until the year 2019, DTI has been carrying out this mission for 10 years, with the researchers and staffs of approximately 400.
DTI main office and research laboratories are located in Nonthaburi north of Bangkok with the two R&D workshops in Nakonsawan and Lopburi province.
