Data and Analytics as a Key Enabler of Digital Transformation

A Platform For Collaboration

OpenGov Asia is pleased to invite you to an exclusive OpenGovLive! Virtual Breakfast Insight aimed at enabling knowledge on making digital transformation more effective and sustainable for the public sector in Malaysia through data analytics and upskilling workforce.

Making digital transformation more effective and sustainable by converging data, processes, and people

Even though digital transformation has shown mixed results for organisations in the past, it remains a strategic imperative for organisations to survive and grow in the current dynamic digital economy. The COVID-19 pandemic has made digital transformation more pertinent, especially for governments and the public sector who were incessantly working to keep citizens and economies up and running.

During these unprecedented times, the government’s only asset that helped them tackle and eventually overcome the challenges of the pandemic was: data.

Data is aptly called the ‘new oil’ as in today’s digital world, your chances of succeeding are directly correlated to your ability to democratise and derive insights from the abundant data. Data and analytics are considered the key accelerants of an organisation’s digitisation and transformation efforts, enhancing any organisations ability to compete in the emerging digital economy.

The other significant factor that directly impacts a government agency’s digital transformation is the identification and automation of specific mundane processes and relocating the skilled human resource to more complex tasks like high-level decision making.

The third important pillar in digital transformation is also an agency’s most prized possession: its people. Upskilling and empowering the human resource with the latest technology and automation enables a more collaborative culture across the organisation, helps deliver quick wins, and achieve transformative outcomes.

As the pandemic has accelerated the awareness and need to transform digitally for the public sector, a lot of effort has investment has been initiated in this direction. But there is a missing piece that is inhibiting the public sector from realising the benefits of digital transformation:  the lack of a single unified platform that brings together the three pillars of digital transformation that can make the process more effective and sustainable in the long term.

Wondering how this convergence of data, processes, and people is possible?

Analytic Process Automation (APA) is the ultimate answer.  APA is a technology that enables easy data sharing, automating tedious processes, and unlock predictive insights that drive timely attainment of goals. It completely eliminates the need to use multiple discreet tools to manage data, processes, and people, making it easier and faster for governments to take care of the citizens.

APA might sound like other analytics and process automation point solutions like business intelligence, robotic process automation, business process automation but it stands out amongst the rest as it does not require advanced knowledge, expert skillset, or months of education to implement. Moreover, the results are also easily measurable, scalable, and repeatable.

APA is an effective tool for public sector industry to track and fight the pandemic outbreak, improve data accountability and transparency in the government’s financial procurement, and to provide disaster recovery and relief.

Still, wondering why you need APA in your organisation? Here’s why.

APA is an apt tool, especially for the public sector industry as it takes into consideration all major priority for the sector. They are:

  • Enables agility and stability in governance
  • Facilitates effective and economic scaling
  • Enables sharing of data in a secure environment

Do you think your organisation is not fully reaping the benefits of digital transformation?

Are discreet tools for managing each pillar, making your organisational structure complex?

Do you feel that your employees are caught up in tedious manual processes that could be automated?
