Modern Workplace: Thriving in a creative and intelligent digital workplace

A Platform For Collaboration

OpenGov Asia is pleased to invite you to an exclusive OpenGovLive! Virtual Breakfast Insight aimed at imparting knowledge on the modern digital workspace and best practices to improve workforce productivity, engagement, service delivery
levels and efficiency.

Creating next-generation secured workplace for enhanced business continuity, better employee experience, and improved productivity
Today’s workplace is in the midst of yet another sea of change, not driven alone by technology but by the current pandemic.

2020 has indeed shown us how critical it is for organisations to be ready for the future. It is imperative for organisation to proactively pre-empt the changes even in the most challenging times. They must drive business continuity rather than being driven to react to changes.

A critical component of a business plan is to remain productive in all circumstances – and that is where the digital workplace comes into the fore.

Emerging technologies now make it possible to deliver the necessary infrastructure for employees to work securely and productively from the office, at home or on the road.

Digital workplaces more than merely enable employees to work remotely. They are the culmination of a business mobility trend that has evolved from individual and team productivity to true business process transformation that is reinventing businesses across all industries.

Transforming employee experience by increasing productivity and engagement

Singapore has seen its largest Work from Home (WFH) experiment kicked-in as circuit breaker efforts to contain the COVID-19 outbreak have been put in place.

This is a tectonic shift in the way we are working and living for the foreseeable future.

COVID-19 developments have accelerated this shift significantly, making mobile work no longer an option, but an absolute must.

This has presented governments and businesses with the need for formidable and immediate adaptation for a remote and mobile workspace.

The digital workspace is made possible through a business’s transition from hardware-centric to software-defined infrastructure.

To reach an authentic digital workspace and to realise the full benefits of productivity and seamless integration, establishing a specific plan, and identifying the current challenges is critical to help define the path forward.

Overcoming challenges and enhancing employee engagement
Digital workplaces do share common challenges but are specific to the context.

Businesses are renewing their focus on IT infrastructure as they run hundreds, if not thousands, of critical, custom-designed legacy applications on their premises. Moving these legacy applications can be complex, time-consuming, and expensive, with costs potentially jumping into millions of dollars.

Cyber resilience is another key aspect as the sharing of more applications and systems creates a wider, more complex landscape to protect. Security is becoming more challenging to ensure, and shadow IT exposes businesses to data breaches and non-compliance with privacy regulations such as GDPR or PDPA.

The challenges and requirements may differ based on the types of businesses. Yet, the digital workplace can be industry–specific. They can be contextually implemented to accommodate the current needs of the business with enough room for expansion in the future.
Setting the right blocks in place the first round would give any business a competitive edge over competitors.

The question is – how prepared are you for the future?
