HKSTP has witnessed the continuous growth of Hong Kong’s I&T ecosystem in recent years. It has nurtured 3 unicorns, which completed listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last December. HKSTP is now home to over 1,000 tech ventures and a total of 11,000 research professionals, maintaining an overall occupancy rate of 88%. In addition, the HKSTP Venture Fund continues to grow, with over HK$600 million in assets under management to support different stages of the start-up growth journey.

The Fund has invested in 23 tech ventures to date with every HK$1 invested by HKSTP attracting HK$16 in external investment. Over the past four years, HKSTP’s park companies have raised over HK$68 billion from 220 investment cases, which is a testament to the strength and quality of the companies in the ecosystem.

HKSTP is committed to providing talent, resources and infrastructure support to I&T ventures. Located at Tseung Kwan O INNOPARK, AMC is well positioned to power the growth of “Innofacturing” and accelerate reindustrialisation driven by I&T. By providing the necessary support for emerging industries while transforming traditional industries, it delivers a comprehensive I&T ecosystem from research to industry.

AMC is a world-class, purpose-built advanced manufacturing base with a ceiling height of 6 metres on each floor and a grid size of 12m x 12m, providing a scalable, efficient and dedicated logistics serviced manufacturing space. With the application of advanced manufacturing and testing processes, AMC is embarking on technological innovation, high value-added and low volume but highly customised production, while also providing comprehensive services for logistics, warehousing, cleanroom-enabled space, prototyping, as well as “ProShop” with low-volume assembly and production, helping Innofacturers quickly turn their innovative ideas into quality products.

The Chairman of HKSTP said that the Park is committed to bolstering the development of the entire I&T ecosystem from research to industry. We have re-positioned the three industrial estates in Tai Po, Tseung Kwan O and Yuen Long as INNOPARKs, and will continue to collaborate extensively with stakeholders from government, industry, academic and research sectors to capitalise on the abundant opportunities arising from the National 14th Five-Year Plan.

It is believed that Innofacturing will contribute to Hong Kong’s next era of economic growth, give Innofacturers the foundation to achieve the vision of innovated, designed, and made in Hong Kong and offer new career opportunities for young talent.

Meanwhile, the CEO of HKSTP noted that AMC is an advanced manufacturing base equipped with Asia’s first multi-industry, automated and intelligent logistics services, which offers one-stop support for advanced manufacturing enterprises of all sizes. It is designed to unlock the potential of high-end manufacturing and help Innofacturers accelerate their local R&D and production process.

In partnership with a world-leading logistics provider, AMC is Asia’s first multi-industry advanced manufacturing facility integrated with automated and smart logistics solutions. It provides the ideal launchpad for sectors such as IoT and smart electronics while serving as an innofacturing base for various industries including medical products, biomedical devices and robotic technologies.

AMC already features key tenants that are charting a new journey to greater innovation and market opportunities.

The Chairman & CEO of one tenant noted that they look forward to harnessing AMC’s state-of-art facilities to efficiently produce world-class, high-quality biomedical products, bringing ideas that are innovated, designed and made in Hong Kong to life.

The Director of another tenant company stated that the firm has witnessed a tenfold increase in productivity since moving into AMC as they have been able to accelerate the process from research to industry, powered by a wide range of 4IR technologies and automated solutions.
