Microsoft started operations in Malaysia in 1993 and today employs over 200 employees across its offices in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Over 1600 organizations constitute the prestigious Microsoft Partner Network in Malaysia are committed to working closely with businesses and people to fully harness the power of technology and innovation.
As part of our commitment to the communities, Microsoft has so far provided RM14.5 million in cash and technology grants to deserving NGOs. Microsoft has partnered closely with teachers and students to help them transform the way Malaysians experience education. Over 3.7mn people have been impacted through the Microsoft Education Programs in the country and about 2mn youth have received opportunities through the Youth Spark initiative.
In the past 25 years, Microsoft has been an important contributor to Malaysia’s economy creating opportunities for more effective and efficient businesses across all sectors with the use of its cutting-edge technologies and expertise. It has been a trusted advisor to businesses and the government. There are 47 IT Academies and 30 ICT Centers that Microsoft supports today.
Microsoft is committed to building on this partnership anchored on driving economic growth, innovation and societal impact. Going forward, we will continue enabling Malaysians to take advantage of the growth opportunities in the digital economy powered by new ways of collaborative networking where productivity and competitiveness are enhanced.
