MitraDarat and Ferizy: Indonesia’s Digital Solutions for Eid Al-Fitr Travel

The Transportation Ministry (Kemenhub) has proposed local travellers use the government’s digital applications such as MitraDarat and Ferizy during Eid Al-Fitr. By taking advantage of current technological advances, these apps will make it easier for tourists to return to their original destinations.

MitraDarat is a multi-service app that offers details on land transportation regulation, licensing and business operations in one application. Suharto, the Director of Road Transportation for the Ministry of Transportation has officially released the free app.

“This app has incorporated bus tracking and information on the Homecoming Map, and it also provides information on the roadworthiness of automobiles. We also took advantage of the Directorate General of Land Transportation’s Free Homecoming scheme,” Suharto remarked.

As part of the Ied Al-Fitr homecoming event, the Ministry of Transportation provided 24,072 complimentary seats on public transportation. The work being done to lessen the likelihood of motorbike mishaps on the trip back home. For the homecoming, 459 buses carried 18,528 people; for the return, 5,544 individuals rode 126 buses.

The Directorate General of Land Transportation (Hubdat) also provided quotas for the free truck transport of motorcycles. The 900 motorcycles that can be transported in total are distributed as follows. We have 450 units set up for incoming traffic and another 450 units ready for outgoing traffic. There are 30 trucks used to transport these 900 units, 15 of which are for incoming traffic and the other 15 for outgoing traffic.

“People can sign up for homecoming at no cost using this app. In addition, those taking public transportation should ensure their safety and comfort by checking the bus’s operational status before boarding. You shouldn’t use it if you can’t get it to work, and you may let us know if that happens. Mitra Darat is available now on the Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS,” Suharto explained.

Ferry passengers, especially those who travel the busy Merak-Bakauheni and Ketapang-Gilimanuk lines, were urged by Hubdat’s Director General Hendro Sugiatno to purchase Eid tickets as soon as possible. They can buy tickets through the Ferizy app and website beginning D-60 before departure.

Hendro asked travellers to have ticket reservations to avoid scalpers. Tourists can purchase tickets via various offline outlets, including BRILink agents, Alfamart, and others. Access fees can be paid in several ways, such as via wire transfer, digital wallet, in-store purchase, online banking, etc.

With the help of Ferizy, consumers no longer have to stand in line at the port to buy ferry tickets. Instead, passengers on Ferizy can purchase tickets in advance and choose the departure time that best suits their schedule. The tool also provides information about the ships’ schedules and capabilities.

Purchasing a ticket on Ferizy is a simple and quick process

  1. Visit the Ferizy website from a desktop or mobile device browser to download the Ferizy app.
  2. Picking a time to leave.
  3. Make sure all your information is entered correctly.
  4. Making a payment.
  5. Users will receive electronic tickets at the email address you entered in the first step.
  6. Show the port authority official your electronic credentials in exchange for a boarding pass.

The general public can board the ship with a valid boarding pass. Hendro claimed that the lengthy wait time will be minimised thanks to Ferizy’s efforts to board vehicles into the ship as quickly as possible. Hendro expected with Ferizy’s top-notch services, the Ferry Port will be more streamlined and ticket availability will be guaranteed.

Tickets may be reserved anytime and from any location, and payments can be made electronically through the website or app. The right to insurance is better ensured due to the completeness, accuracy, and continued data validity, thanks to Ferizy.
