Thailand’s first AI seminar to be held in December 2018

According to a recent report, CMKL University, a technology-focused university under a collaboration between King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and Carnegie Mellon University, the top university from the United States, is ready to hold a flagship seminar, entitled “CMKL Tech Summit 2018”, at C ASEAN auditorium in Cyberworld Building on 13 December 2018.

This summit will grant a chance for individuals and organizations to upgrade themselves and remove the pain points they have at the moment. And address the fact that the shortage of technology knowledge and talents is the common challenge that almost every organization is trying to tackle in the Digital Transformation era.

The President of CMKL University said the objective of organizing “CMKL Tech Summit 2018” is to support both individuals and organizations that are adjusting themselves into Digital Transformation era. The main concept will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), making this event the first AI flagship seminar in Thailand.

He noted that while everyone and every organization need to adjust themselves, his team has found that many of them face the shortage of human resources in many positions such as Data Scientists. Some of them even lack human resources who understand how to apply technology to their organizations.

As the leading technology university with a collaboration with the world’s first AI software developer Carnegie Mellon University, he noted that CMKL decided to hold this seminar to help enhance the know-how and the competitiveness for everyone.

Established in 2017, CMKL University is a collaboration between two top technology universities, which are King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and Carnegie Mellon University.

Currently, it offers the programs for Master Degree, Doctoral Degree and short courses related to AI, Blockchain, Data Analytics and Cyber Security by applying Carnegie Mellon’s globally acclaimed research and education programs.

CMKL University aims to build a community and enhance the technology competitiveness in Southeast Asia through research and innovation.

AI is playing a vital role in changing the world as well as the business sector and industries in the future. Therefore, the university chooses AI as the main topic for this seminar.

The university’s president added CMKL Tech Summit 2018 has gathered technology- and AI-related experts from the private sector and the educational sector from Thailand and worldwide, the Chair of the Board of Trustees at CMKL University, and a team of professors from Carnegie Mellon University to share their insights at the event.

The topics covered in the seminar will range from the application of AI technology in a business to the business sector and the industries in which AI is playing a vital role (for example, retail, healthcare and agriculture).

In the event, there will be a plenty of booths from leading companies that pay attention to digital transformation and those companies which jointly do research and development with the university.

There will also be a plenty of booths from the educational sector including King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and Carnegie Mellon University, Carnegie Mellon University, and CMKL University.

The president noted that nowadays, Digital Transformation is no longer a far issue from the nation. Therefore, CMKL would like to invite everyone and every organization that are interested in technology or are adapting to attend this seminar.

He added that the seminar will help people learn directly from the global speakers, exchange the insights and meet the talents who might become your colleagues in the future, noting that the sooner one learns or moves first, the earlier one achieves.
