On Jan 25, Australia announced the launch of the first National TAFE Cybersecurity Program. The skills-based cybersecurity certificate and diploma level qualifications are to be delivered by TAFEs across the country in 2018.
Australia announced deployment of new research drones for ocean observations
Australian research body CSIRO announced that its research partnership with San Francisco-based ocean technology startup Saildrone will see the deployment of unmanned ocean surface vehicles for the first time in Australian waters. Saildrone is a cost-effective data collection tool for ocean science as they can replace the costly and conventional use of research ships and vessels.
