US e-commerce company to establish APAC HQ in Melbourne boosting Victoria’s reputation as e-commerce leader

US e-commerce company to establish APAC HQ in Melbourne boosting Victoria’s reputation as e-commerce leader

The announcement that a leading US
e-commerce company will establish its Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne
has boosted Victoria’s reputation as a leader in e-commerce.

Brand Value Accelerator (BVAccel), is a US
digital agency that delivers innovative e-commerce and digital marketing
services to high-growth brands such as MVMT, Red Bull, Ivory Ella, Kopary
Beauty and Cupshe.

According to the report
released by the Victorian
, the Andrews Labor Government has worked hard to secure
the investment, with Minister for Trade and Investment Philip Dalidakis meeting
the company in the United States last year.

Minister for Trade and Investment Philip
Dalidakis said that global e-commerce leaders are choosing Victoria and that
they are welcoming this investment by Brand Value Accelerator, a company that
will help local companies tap into massive online markets.

BVAccel was one of the original six Shopify
Plus agencies and is currently the largest Shopify Plus agency in the world.
The company’s new Melbourne office will be creating 50 new jobs, which will
consist of designers, developers and marketing staff.

BV Accel Vice-President of Business
Expansion Mr Will Fisher explained that their expansion into Australia is a
strategic accomplishment for BVAccel. They are going to launch their presence
there with a goal of hitting the 50-employee mark.

This announcement adds one more to the
growing list of major global e-commerce companies that are setting up in the
region. Other notable companies who have set up regional headquarters in
Victoria are China’s top two players, Alibaba and, which chose Melbourne
as well. US giant Amazon, on the one hand, established its first Australian
logistics centre in Dandenong.

The rise of Victoria as an e-commerce hub
is not only providing jobs for local tech workers, but it is also creating
opportunities for local businesses to take their world class products to
hundreds of millions of new online customers around the world.

The Victoria Government encourages local
businesses to make the most of this opportunity by partnering with global e-commerce
leaders to deliver workshops on how to market products online.

Local businesses such as Swisse, Goat Soap
and Ego Pharmaceuticals are all seeing rapid growth in e-commerce sales. They are
great examples of how tapping into these global markets creates jobs locals and
boosts the Victorian economy.

Minister Dalidakis highlighted how they are
establishing Victoria as a regional leader in e-commerce, an initiative that is
paying off with the creation of jobs for locals and incredible opportunities
for Victorian companies.

He furthered that the move is a significant
step forward in establishing the company as one of the most capable commerce
and digital marketing partners worldwide.

Moreover, consumers expect the opportunity
to engage with brands where, when, and how they want, and BVAccel believes that
they can help level the global playing field for all kinds of wonderful
Australian and Kiwi brands.
