The Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore has appointed two new members and re-appointed three members to the Board of A*STAR.
The appointment of New Board Members, with effect from 1 February 2020, are Mr Arunjai Mittal, Independent Director and Mr Ravinder Singh, President, ST Engineering Electronics Ltd.
The re-Appointment of Board Members, with effect from 1 February 2020 are Dr Josephine Kwa, Director, Barghest Building Performance. And from 1 January 2020 Professor Tan Eng Chye, President, National University of Singapore and Professor Subra Suresh, President, Nanyang Technological University Singapore have been re-appointed.
New Board Members for A*STAR
Mr Arunjai Mittal currently serves as a member on the Supervisory Boards of Osram Licht AG in Munich, Tesa SE in Hamburg, and as a Director at Silicon Solutions Ventures in Singapore. He is also a non-executive Chairman of an NTU spin-off start-up Zero-Error Systems Pte Ltd. Previously, he has served as a Board member at the Economic Development Board (EDB), and was also a Board member of A*ccelerate Pte Ltd, the commercialisation arm of A*STAR until January 2020.
Mr Ravinder Singh is President of ST Engineering Electronics, where he plays an instrumental role in advancing technology and driving significant business transformations of key industries through the companies’ capabilities in mobility, satellite communications, Internet of Things (loT), public safety and security, cybersecurity and defence. He is concurrently the President of Defence Business at ST Engineering, overseeing the Defence products, services and solutions for the Group.
