The Ministry of Home Affairs’ Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) is optimistic about the increasing innovation in various regions in Indonesia. As of the end of August 2023, 135 regions have been willing to sign Work Agreements (PK) related to utilising the Regional Innovation Network Centre (Puja Indah) application.

Puja Indah is a data input-based shared government service application that is technically designed to accelerate the provision of government services through an integrated electronic service platform.

The application aims to streamline the government service process, improve efficiency, and support transparency in government administration across different regions. With more regions involved in this initiative, more innovations are expected to emerge, providing more significant benefits to the local communities.

“The target set in the Strategic Plan for the implementation of Puja Indah in 2023 is to reach 171 regions that have signed agreements, but currently, there are only 135 regions involved. We hope that the utilisation of Puja Indah will continue to increase,” said Aferi S. Fudail, Head of the Centre for Human Resource Development Policy Strategy, Information Technology, and Government Innovation at BSKDN Kemendagri.

Furthermore, Fudail explained that Puja Indah is a platform that offers various types of government services, covering various aspects of community life. These services are designed to facilitate access to public services, allowing people to quickly access the services they need.

In this context, Puja Indah includes pervasive services such as education, licensing, and healthcare and covers crucial sectors such as employment, population, and public order. The platform also addresses essential issues currently emerging in society, such as taxation, poverty, and support for Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes).

By integrating various services into one easily accessible platform, Puja Indah significantly improves the efficiency and quality of public services in various regions. It aligns with the commitment of BSKDN Kemendagri to enhance innovation in public services, which is expected to provide significant benefits to the community and support Minimum Service Standards (SPM).

With the various services available, Aferi hopes to facilitate regional governments in increasing innovation in their respective areas. He also encourages all regional governments (Pemda) to be more active in introducing the innovations they have produced through various events such as exhibitions or regional innovation competitions. He believes such initiatives can boost the spirit of Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD) and the entire community to participate in innovation activities actively.

In line with this, Aryani Savitri, Head of Strategic Planning and Partnership at an educational NGO, emphasised that improving regional innovation requires cross-sectoral cooperation. It involves not only government institutions but also the crucial participation of non-governmental organisations.

Aryani stated that the educational NGO is committed to supporting innovation in Indonesia through various programmes, including educational programmes, efforts to reduce stunting rates, and various other initiatives supporting innovation development in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Yoi Arief Nugraha, Deputy Chief Editor of mainstream media, welcomes the Puja Indah application initiative introduced by Kemendagri. According to him, Puja Indah has the potential to be a solution to various challenges faced by regional governments, especially in terms of increasing the level of innovation. He hopes that in the future, the Puja Indah application will be accessible to all regions.

“We want to emphasise the importance of ease of access, which is our input and comment to Mr. Kapus (Aferi S.Fudail). Ease of access is the most crucial aspect in reaching a wide user base. There is no better application than one that can be easily accessed by users,” he emphasised.
