China Unveils Digitalisation Plan for Life Services

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

China’s Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with 11 other government departments, has unveiled a comprehensive guideline aimed at advancing the digital transformation of the life services sector. The directive outlines 19 key measures, encompassing the integration of digital life services into communities, the further digitalisation of trade services, transportation, and education, as well as the establishment of standardised life services systems and platforms.

With a focus on strengthening digitalisation technologies, supporting digital finance, and providing digital professional training, China aims to enhance the role of the life services sector in expanding consumption, improving livelihoods, and stabilising employment.

In addition, Technology emerges as a crucial ally in Changchun as intelligent inspection robots enable workers like Wang Xinbing to monitor substation equipment efficiently from the warmth of indoor spaces.

Equipped with 40 high-definition cameras, these robots swiftly evaluate equipment conditions, significantly boosting work efficiency. Beyond substation monitoring, cutting-edge technologies, including drones and de-icing vehicles, play pivotal roles in addressing challenges posed by snowfall and intense weather conditions across China.

In Yuexi County, drones equipped with predefined flight routes aid rapid inspections in the mountainous terrain, ensuring the integrity of power lines. In Jilin Province, snow removal has become highly mechanised with the use of de-icing vehicles, snow blowers, and biogenic snow-melting agents.

In intelligent mines, remote control of equipment like electric shovels and drilling rigs is being enhanced, contributing to increased production efficiency and weather resilience. For instance, at the Pingshuo East Open-pit Mine in Shanxi Province, unmanned trucks have streamlined operations, reducing the need for manual labour and enhancing safety.

These technological advancements not only alleviate the impact of extreme weather conditions but also underscore the transformative role of technology in various sectors. From improving work efficiency in substation monitoring to mechanising snow removal and enhancing mining operations, China’s proactive integration of technology enhances productivity, mitigates challenges brought by severe weather, and paves the way for a more resilient and digitally driven future.

By embracing technology across various sectors, China is positioning itself for increased productivity and efficiency. The use of advanced technologies, such as intelligent inspection robots, drones, and digitalised processes, not only addresses challenges posed by severe weather but also contributes to the overall resilience of key industries.

This integration signifies a strategic move towards a more technologically advanced and interconnected future. The emphasis on digitalisation in trade services, transportation, education, and life services highlights China’s commitment to leveraging technology as a catalyst for economic growth.

Besides, the transformative power of digital technologies in streamlining operations, improving work efficiency, and ensuring business continuity during adverse conditions underscores their central role in shaping the digital economy’s landscape.

The integration of technology in China is pivotal for its economic growth, global competitiveness, and societal advancement. Positioned as a leader in the digital economy, China’s commitment to innovation and research & development is evident in its adoption of cutting-edge technologies across industries.

This technological transformation extends to traditional sectors, contributing to industrial upgrades and environmental sustainability goals. Beyond economic benefits, technology enhances societal well-being through improved healthcare, education, and public services.

China’s resilience in the face of challenges, such as severe weather conditions, is bolstered by advanced solutions like intelligent inspection robots and drones. As a major player in global tech industries, China’s technological integration also fosters international collaboration and aligns with its broader Belt and Road Initiative, emphasising the nation’s significance in shaping the future of technology on a global scale.
