OpenGov Asia is pleased to invite you to our exclusive OpenGov Breakfast Insight aimed at imparting knowledge on how to adopt strategies that would allow organisations to realise the full benefits of a hybrid multi-cloud approach, while effectively managing the inherent complexities.
Singaporean enterprise cites a lack of data, technology, and skills as obstacles to implementing sustainable practises. According to a recent CEO study by the IBM Institute for Business Value, 86% of the 3,000 CEOs polled globally said their companies have sustainability strategy in place. However, the same study found that only 35% of the CEO respondents had begun putting their strategies into practice. Uncertain ROI and economic benefits, according to 57% of respondents, are the main challenges to implementing sustainability initiatives successfully.
Goals and KPIs relating to sustainability are being established, but there is still much that can be done as Singaporean enterprise deal with issues including energy dependence, vulnerability to climate change, resource efficiency, and adoption of green technology.
Containerisation, a pivotal component of the cloud-native journey in the context of hybrid multi-cloud strategies, plays a vital role in enhancing flexibility, scalability, and efficiency. By encapsulating applications and their dependencies in containers, organisations can seamlessly move workloads across diverse cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure. This not only fosters portability but also streamlines development and deployment processes.
Furthermore, the integration of sustainable infrastructure initiatives within the hybrid multi-cloud narrative is imperative for reducing the global energy footprint. By optimising resource utilisation, adopting energy-efficient data center technologies, and exploring renewable energy sources, enterprises contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
This dual focus on containerisation and sustainable infrastructure underscores the holistic approach organisations must take to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape, where innovation and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
In light of these developments, how can enterprises reinvent themselves?
Investing in Cutting-Edge A.I Solutions: A Challenging but Doable Voyage
The adoption of Artificial Intelligence (A.I) presents both remarkable opportunities and potential challenges in the pursuit of sustainability. While A.I technologies can drive efficiencies, optimise resource utilisation, and enhance decision-making processes, they must be harnessed responsibly to ensure a positive impact on our environment.
To achieve sustainable A.I adoption, organisations and stakeholders must focus on key areas including energy efficiency and renewable energy, data management, ethical use, environmental monitoring, supply chain improvement. Promoting a shift towards a circular economy by enhancing product lifecycle management, refining recycling processes, and minimising waste, while also advancing sustainable A.I practices through education and heightened awareness is key.
In essence, achieving better sustainability alongside A.I adoption requires a proactive, responsible, and holistic approach. By harnessing the power of A.I while prioritising sustainability, organisations can address pressing global challenges and create a future where technology and the environment coexist harmoniously. These strategies collectively promote responsible A.I adoption in an environmentally conscious world.
