According to a recent report, The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has unveiled a new logo and corporate identity for the digital era, as well as several initiatives to promote the adoption of innovative technologies by Hong Kong companies.

The new logo has been designed with a robotic hand to symbolize HKPC’s support for cutting edge technologies, as well as its mission of giving industries a helping hand by providing services and training for enterprises at every stage of their digital transformation journey.

It also symbolizes HKPC’s desire to work in conjunction with different sectors of the community in transforming Hong Kong into a smart city.

As well as the new corporate identity, the multi-disciplinary organisation has announced several new initiatives aimed at promoting the use of innovative technologies among Hong Kong companies.

These include facilitating the development of reindustrialization, smart living, the advanced manufacturing industry in Hong Kong; and enabling companies to grasp new business opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

HKPC plans to organize a series of thematic seminars as part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Productivity Lecture series from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Productivity Service Consortium.

These lectures will see experts from the GBA and the rest of Mainland China offering training and information on the bay’s development plans.

Likewise, HKPC plans to host the two-day AI Impulse 2019 seminar on June 17-18, and has invited AI and IT experts from Germany, the US, mainland China and Hong Kong to share their insights on the innovative applications of AI technology in various industries with enterprise representatives.

Meanwhile, HKPC intends to establish a new one-stop service exchange platform for SMEs in the Greater Bay Area seeking to expand worldwide and attract foreign assessment.

Other initiatives include establishing a Smart Property Assessment Centre tasked with protecting the IP of companies within the GBA, as well as collaborating with smart robotics company on collaboration in R&D, training and other activities in the realm of AI and robotics.

The organisation has always moved with times and grown together with Hong Kong industries, according to its chairman said at the launch of the new corporate identity.

With regards to industrialization, a report noted that the organisation has begun to assemble projects aimed at boosting cooperation in the GBA.

Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong province will establish a technology and innovation corridor encompassing their regions as part of efforts to tighten cooperation in the Greater Bay Area.

To strengthen integration and achieve greater synergy among the participating regions, the HKPC last year collaborated with the China Association of Productivity Promotion Centers, the Guangdong Productivity Council and the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre to jointly establish an alliance for the promotion of productivity in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The alliance aims to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of industrial and commercial firms, particularly small and medium-scale enterprises, in the GBA.

The HKPC has also established an innovation and technology centre as well as a GBA office in Futian, Shenzhen.

The centre aims to support smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, big data and environmental technology projects by offering integrated services, shared space and an exchange platform for SMEs and start-ups in the GBA.
