Statistical Approach For New Cybersecurity Platform

Australia HyprFire Software

An innovative cybersecurity solution, which was developed by researchers from Australia’s Curtin University, is a step closer to hitting the market after securing a Federal Government Accelerating Commercialisation Grant of AU$ 170,000.

According to a recent press release, HyprFire is defensive software that works to prevent cyber-attacks by using powerful statistical techniques to identify and filter out malicious traffic, at the same time, keeping the online service running.

About the Grant

The funding will be used to take Hyprfire software to the next level by further developing the software and testing it in a live environment so that it is ready for commercial sales.

The University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Professor Chris Moran congratulated the grant winners for their commitment to solving real-world problems with innovation and quality research.

The Professor shared that the Hyprfire team has applied their expertise to address the real and ever-growing threat of cybersecurity attacks.

These attacks can cause significant economic and reputational damage to organisations.

The grant funding will be used to develop the software in order for it to be suitable for commercial trials with industry partners.

Trials will be conducted with said partners before making it ready for commercial sales.

This collaborative work is an outstanding example of how Curtin University research projects are developing innovative products that have the potential to make tangible improvements for businesses.

Hyprfire combines the expertise of Curtin University academics and commercial experts.
