The meeting saw productive deliberations between the Indonesian President and the visiting delegation, as they explored avenues for cooperation in bolstering Indonesia’s digital prowess. Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi highlighted the focus on nurturing digital talent and establishing a collaborative research hub between the corporation and the Indonesian government.

Underlining the corporation’s existing presence in the Asia-Pacific region, Minister Budi Arie Setiadi expressed optimism about the prospect of establishing a similar research and development centre within Indonesia’s borders. This strategic move is envisioned to provide substantial support to the Indonesian government’s initiatives, particularly in the realisation of smart city projects, such as the Indonesian capital’s ambitious development plans.

In addition to exploring avenues for technological collaboration, the discussions also delved into the application of AI technology in key sectors vital to Indonesia’s economy, notably agriculture and fisheries. Minister Budi Arie Setiadi reiterated President Joko Widodo’s steadfast support for fostering synergies between the corporation and the Indonesian government, underscoring the transformative potential of integrating technology into the nation’s economic landscape.

Echoing this sentiment, the President Director of the corporation’s Indonesian arm, reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to advancing business prospects and investing in technology within Indonesia. With a keen eye on research and development initiatives, he assured stakeholders of the corporation’s dedication to following through on the shared aspirations discussed during the meeting.

The convergence of governmental vision and private sector expertise marks a pivotal moment in Indonesia’s journey towards technological advancement. As the nation positions itself as a regional hub for innovation, collaborations of this nature are poised to catalyse transformative growth, propelling Indonesia towards its aspirations of becoming a technologically empowered nation.

Following this meeting, Minister Budi Arie elaborated on the discussions held between the President and the visiting CEO, focusing on collaborative efforts to bolster Indonesia’s technology ecosystem.

The minister outlined key areas of cooperation discussed during the meeting, emphasising a concerted effort to enhance human resource development in the country. Integral to this endeavour is the augmentation of national digital talent, particularly in the sphere of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in alignment with Indonesia’s vision for technological advancement.

Highlighting the corporation’s existing presence in the Asia-Pacific region, the minister reaffirmed the President’s request for the establishment of a research and development centre within Indonesia. The proposed centre, envisioned as a collaborative effort between the corporation and the Indonesian government, aims to amplify Indonesia’s technological capabilities, with potential locations including the Capital of the Archipelago (IKN) and Bali.

In addition to human resource development and research endeavours, the minister emphasised the importance of cooperation in promoting Smart Cities, particularly within the framework of IKN. Acknowledging the critical role of human capital in propelling digital transformation, he reiterated the value of such alliances in expediting Indonesia’s technological progress.

The President Director of the corporation emphasised his CEO’s dedication to advancing tech business in Indonesia, directly conveyed to President Joko Widodo, showcasing the corporation’s commitment to Indonesia’s tech scene.

Looking ahead, the corporation’s CEO is slated to participate in the company’s Build AI Day at the Jakarta Convention Centre, where further discussions on business development in Indonesia are anticipated. With the presence of key governmental figures and industry leaders, the event promises to be a platform for fostering collaboration and driving innovation in Indonesia’s technology sector.
