Organised through a collaborative effort between pivotal entities such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam National University in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, it represents a national collective vision and progress.

More than a routine gathering, this annual conference serves as a crucial cornerstone within the framework of a coordinated programme among the aforementioned units. Its primary aim is to serve as an information hub, a platform to disseminate achievements, highlight exemplary research and training outcomes, and update policies within the realm of science, technology, and innovation.

Beyond merely sharing successes, it also serves as a catalyst for dialogue, where practitioners delve into pertinent issues, exchanging thoughts and strategies to surmount challenges in this dynamic field.

The significance of this conference transcends the exchange of knowledge; it stands as a fertile ground for innovative ideas and collaboration. Here, various units and distinguished scientists converge to not only present their findings but to propose mechanisms and solutions.

The overarching goal is to fortify the collaboration among national programmes and establish robust links between the country’s premier research and training entities. This synergy aims to leverage strengths and expertise in addressing pressing national concerns through a unified scientific approach.

At the core of this congregation lies the essence of collaboration and problem-solving. Delegates, managers, and scientific luminaries convene to deliberate on strategies and policies that pave the way for a conducive environment fostering research activities and technological advancements.

Their overarching aim is to contribute significantly to the evolution of laws pertaining to science, technology, and innovation, shaping a regulatory framework that nurtures growth and ingenuity.

The discussions and exchanges during this conference serve as a melting pot of insights and ideas. Solutions devised here are not merely theoretical; they are actionable strategies aimed at implementing science and technology strategies and policies. The overarching objective is to cultivate an environment that nurtures and supports groundbreaking research endeavours, ultimately steering the trajectory of Vietnam’s scientific and technological advancement towards greater heights.

As openGov Asia reported, Vietnam’s digital technology sector has undergone a profound metamorphosis, experiencing a remarkable surge in both the number of companies and revenue streams. Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Manh Hung, revealed this impressive growth, citing a 30% rise in the count of digital technology firms and an astounding 32% increase in industry revenue since 2019.

Speaking at the fifth national forum on the development of digital technology businesses in Quang Ninh province, Minister Hung underscored the sector’s strides over the past half-decade. Particularly noteworthy is the escalating share of locally produced ‘Make-in-Vietnam’ products within the industry, climbing from 21% to an encouraging 29%.

This transformation in Vietnam’s digital technology landscape mirrors the nation’s commitment to technological advancement, as discussed in the 2023 Annual Conference on Strategy for Developing Science, Technology, and Innovation until 2030. The exponential growth in the digital technology sector aligns with the broader agenda of leveraging innovation and scientific progress to steer Vietnam toward a tech-savvy future.

The 2023 Annual Conference on Strategy for Developing Science, Technology, and Innovation until 2030 in Vietnam epitomises a concerted effort towards a future woven with innovation, collaboration, and progress. It stands as a testament to the nation’s commitment to harnessing the power of science and technology as catalysts for societal and economic development.
