In Uttar Pradesh, addressing academia, researchers, and leaders from CSIR, DRDO, Medical, and Technical Institutes, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology and MoS PMO, stressed the vital role of early industry connections in nurturing “sustainable” startups, underscoring the importance of Indian solutions for local challenges.

Singh highlighted AI’s significance alongside the creativity of young minds, envisioning a transformative future for India. Recognising India’s rise as a cost-effective startup hub, he urged collaborative efforts between stakeholders and startups for synchronised progress.

Acknowledging the spectrum of unmet clinical needs in India, Singh stressed the imperative for Indian scientists to address these gaps, referencing ongoing critical drug research projects at Indian institutes and CSIR laboratories.

He commended CDRI’s collaborative efforts and underscored the necessity for institutions to collaborate, advocating for both public-public and public-private partnerships. Singh stressed the importance of aligning research initiatives with industry requirements from the project’s inception.

Singh emphasised sustained investment in drug discovery, lauding CDRI and alike as pivotal partners in expanding India’s innovation landscape. He urged seamless knowledge transfer from academia to industry, enabling lab innovations to reach the market smoothly.

An MoU signing between SGPGIMS and CDRI aims to enhance collaboration between clinicians and researchers, fostering impactful research and development endeavours.

Singh lauded the ‘One Week One Lab’ (OWOL) programme, highlighting its role in effectively integrating lab research outcomes and engaging stakeholders.

Singh urged CDRI to engage more young talent in tech innovations, citing India’s successful vaccination drive and Aroma Mission & Floriculture Mission as examples. He emphasized the dual benefits: better public health and growth in the aroma industry through aromatic crop cultivation.

The Minister’s emphasis on early industry ties for sustainable startups aligns with Ayodhya’s technological leap, showcasing a growing fusion between traditional values and digital advancements, reflecting India’s forward-thinking trajectory.

Ayodhya, in Uttar Pradesh, with its religious significance and cultural heritage, is witnessing a remarkable technological evolution and digital rejuvenation. The city has embarked on a transformative journey into a new era of development.

The government envisions Ayodhya as a city deeply entrenched in India’s cultural roots, a place reflecting the finest traditions and remarkable developmental transformations. The city now represents the intersection where traditions merge with technological advancements and spirituality converges with digital progress.

Already amidst an infrastructure resurgence, Ayodhya is being redefined as a global tourism hub and a sustainable smart city. Plans include a greenfield township featuring accommodations for devotees, spaces for ashrams (rest houses), hotels and state houses. Additionally, initiatives to enhance infrastructure around the Saryu River and its ghats, including regular cruise operations, are underway.

The cityscape is witnessing a flurry of development activities. Roads are expanding, multilayer car parks are under construction, temples are being renovated, and the Saryu River’s ghats are undergoing enhancements. This metamorphosis has triggered a surge in economic activities, transitioning a once serene town into a bustling hub. Crucially, there’s a notable shift towards digital transactions across the city.

Boatmen navigating the Saryu River and vendors now embrace digital payments, acknowledging how online transactions enter bank accounts via UPI, simplifying their lives. Residents echo the convenience of UPI, expressing relief from the hassle of dealing with change, highlighting the instant and secure nature of digital transactions.

Shopkeepers seamlessly accept payment through QR codes, streamlining transactions for vendors and customers alike. QR codes facilitate donations and payments, enhancing efficiency for devotees.

This paradigm shift in Ayodhya aligns with the government’s Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, aiming to promote awareness about flagship schemes and the overarching vision of a ‘Digital India’. The Government’s efforts have significantly increased digital payment transactions, showcasing a compound annual growth rate of 45% from FY 2017-18 to FY 2022-23.
