Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), in its pursuit of expanding international collaborations and sharing technological expertise, unveiled significant partnerships with two prominent Chinese industries. Through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) the university underscores its commitment to advancing global cooperation in technology and innovation.
Led by Prof Datuk Ts Dr Massila Kamalrudin, UTeM’s Vice-Chancellor, the university emphasises the importance of strengthening global ties to foster technological advancements. Recognising China’s prominence in technology, UTeM aims to capitalise on this partnership to propel both academic and industrial advancements in Malaysia’s technological landscape.
The collaboration with Yunnan Fenglongwan is geared towards enhancing the tourism industry and promoting health products in Malaysia. This partnership also facilitates the exchange of personnel and students, fostering a dynamic environment for cross-cultural learning and innovation.
This collaboration focuses on bridging academia-industry gaps at the international level, emphasising joint programs in science and technology development, resource sharing, and collaborative research and training initiatives.
During the visit to China, UTeM delegates also conducted an industrial tour of one the of partnering companies, a significant player in raw lead production and non-ferrous metal resource recovery. This visit underscores UTeM’s commitment to exploring cutting-edge research opportunities in battery technology, aligning with global demands and economic trends.

Accompanying Prof Massila on this visit are Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation, Professor Ir. Ts.
