Improving the social environment of sci-tech innovation is the key point to stimulate innovation and creativity and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) has established an important platform to create sound social environments for innovation and promote the integration of science, technology and economy.
The forum is expected to become a service brand of “conference, exhibition and contest + technology trade” to build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) a talent highland. CAST is willing to deepen strategic cooperation with all sides to make Guangzhou international technology trade service centre better serve sci-tech professionals to make innovation and start businesses and the future development of the GBA better integrated into new development patterns.
We should promote organisational innovation to build a platform to deliver accurate and market-oriented services to transform advanced technological achievements into real productivity. This will better fulfil CAST’s mission of targeting the global sci-tech frontiers, serving the main economic battlefields, meeting the significant needs of the country and benefiting people’s lives and health.

As reported by OpenGov Asia, another recent report titled “China Tech Decoupled” examined how China is building up a self-reliant domestic IT infrastructure ecosystem with detailed analysis. How China’s tech sector evolves and potentially decouples from the global tech system is one of the most important factors shaping the future. The report sheds light on how China’s effort to build up key domestic substitute IT infrastructure is going and how it will impact the world’s tech landscape.
China is likely to make reasonable progress in domestic replacement in the next decade in markets such as Internet-of-Things (IoT) O.S., cyber security, cloud computing, computing devices, and servers. These markets do not have as high technological barriers or long R&D cycles as chip manufacturing. As a greater share of these markets is captured by domestic companies, foreign companies will gradually lose market share and influence over the Chinese market.
