Philippine Trade Training Centre launches self-help e-learning modules

The Philippine Trade Training Centre-Global MSME Academy (PTTC-GMEA) has launched 137 self-help e-learning modules during a virtual event, last week.

The event was held in celebration of the National Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Week 2020.

Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman said the training modules will help strengthen the MSME capabilities to be new normal ready.

PTTC-GMEA’s Executive Director, Nelly Nita Dillera, noted that the Academy will continue to support MSMEs and help build resilience for businesses to still thrive during the pandemic.

Consistent with this year’s theme of ‘Recovery to Resilience,’ the PTTC-GMEA will not remain static in a dynamic world. The organisation is looking into retooling, reskilling, and upskilling MSMEs to strengthen them and their workforce in terms of capability-building, Dillera said.

The official shared that the 137 self-help modules were prepared by the PTTC team, which can be accessed on cellphones and laptops. She added that learners can study the modules at their own pace.

Some of the topics of the self-help modules are, e-commerce, export made easy, good manufacturing practices, and food safety, among others.

Further, the website also features modules from PTTC-GMEAs global trade academy partners, such as ASEAN MSME academy, International trade Centre Academy, and International Chamber of Commerce Academy.

Interested individuals may access the modules at the official website.

Aside from these modules, PTTC will still conduct free webinars for MSMEs.

The organisation hopes that participants will gain a lot of knowledge and inspiration from the PTTC webinars, to equip them in managing businesses productively, profitably, and competitively under the new normal.

Other local government units and departments have been increasing their efforts to support domestic businesses. Through online training, webinars, funding, and policies the government aims to help businesses navigate amid the pandemic.

In line with this, at least 25 MSMEs from the cities of Santiago and Cauayan have received livelihood kits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Isabela.

An official said the livelihood kits are part of the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) cum Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PBG) as support to MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
