China Launches MLOps Tool Map and Rural Revitalisation

As an important part of artificial intelligence (AI) engineering, the artificial intelligence R&D and operation system (MLOps) builds a standardised, integrated, and systematic production and operation system for the entire life cycle of AI models.

It also encourages the transition of model production from decentralised small workshops to a large-scale and orderly factory assembly line model, which helps organisations improve the quality and efficiency of AI implementation.

The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology is putting together the “MLOps Tool Map” to organise the parts of the MLOps toolchain in a logical way, get a clear picture of the current state of industry development, help the application side choose the right technologies, and keep promoting the high-quality growth of the industry.

The MLOps tool set is divided into two primary categories:

  • End-to-end platform: The MLOps platform supports the whole model life cycle, from data preparation through model rollout. It also offers some asset management and basic support features.
  • Special tools: The three types of special tools are process capability, product management, and basic guarantee. An MLOps platform or tool that enables the completion of one or more fine-grained tasks (such as data processing, data quality inspection, data labelling, and feature management, among others) during the model’s entire life cycle.

In addition, to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the National Two Sessions, and the Central Economic Work Conference, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology will support the high-quality development of county and township industries.

Consumption of information has become increasingly important in today’s digital economy. It has a wide range of the spectrum, a large user base, and is always being improved upon. The way people dress, eat, live, and get around is completely revitalised.

The country’s information consumption scale will reach 6.95 trillion yuan in 2022, a 4% increase year on year, playing a vital supportive role in efficiently coordinating epidemic prevention and control, as well as economic and social development.

Following that, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Department of Information Technology Development will, based on its own responsibilities, innovate development ideas, further explore the enormous potential of information consumption in rural revitalization, and better promote the overall upgrading of agriculture, the overall progress of rural areas, and the overall development of farmers.

According to Bai Xueren, a deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Communications Administration, Fujian’s information and communication industry has fully implemented the rural revitalisation development strategy adopted by the Party Central Committee and the State Council.

Under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Fujian’s information and communication industry has given full play to the role of informatisation in leading rural revitalisation, continuing to improve the supply capacity of rural network infrastructure, continuing to increase the speed and reduce fees for the benefit of the people and enterprises, and utilising digital technology to assist in the modernisation of agricultural and rural areas.

Fujian Province has achieved 5G coverage in all townships and 74% of administrative villages, and the popularisation of “gigabit-to-home” capabilities in areas above townships has opened the “information artery” for Fujian’s rural areas to integrate into the digital economy era, thereby empowering rural development. The foundation has been strengthened further.
