Open AI to Revolutionise Business in Thailand

Using AI in government increases openness and guarantees everyone the same opportunities to benefit from government programmes and services. Making progress in artificial intelligence necessitates adjusting to the contemporary period and lending a hand in resource management. The First Open AI Hack Fest: Revolutionising Business with Open AI was launched in Thailand with the OpenAI HackFest event.

Nattapat Aikpol, head of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), believes AI will significantly increase productivity and supplement human labour across many industries. This initiative will aid in the creation of innovative digital tools and solutions for use in the selected fields. He made sure that depa had processes in place to help advance any technologies or solutions that may emerge from this endeavour through marketing and support. Through the depa Digital Startup Fund method, the organisation can help turn its ideas into a profitable company.

The depa Smart City Accelerator initiative also assists by promoting the use of technologies and solutions that will be used and evaluated in that context. The head of an AI firm stressed the significance of creating innovations that can be used to assist companies in eight sectors.

Thailand’s healthcare and pharmaceuticals, insurance, shopping and trade, industrial, automation in farmland, hospitality and food and beverage all benefited from the use of artificial intelligence. As with other technologies, promoting Open AI will help the transit and communication sectors, education and transportation and communication, environmental, social, and governance (ESG), and finance sectors.

As part of its preparation for Thailand 4.0, the country is working on a National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Plan. The government invested in artificial intelligence research to boost private and public sector initiatives. The initiative allowed AI to generate more economic value. It is also essential to build applications, construct tools and sandboxes for business innovation, and launch AI startups.

The strategy will boost the nation’s technical competitiveness by developing human capital and establishing an environment for innovation. The programme’s goals include improving society, the ecosystem, and the economy. The action plan will help the nation prepare for ethics, law, and regulation.

The Ministry of Digital founded the National Artificial Intelligence Strategic Plan Development and the Thammasat AI Centre to boost Thailand’s creative capability through public-private partnerships.

As part of the centre’s mission, Thammasat University’s Artificial Intelligence Centre (Thammasat AI Centre) is delighted to receive assistance from a sizable digital fund. The programme emphasises cooperation between government, business, and academic organisations.

A higher global market value and a rise of up to 26% in economic worth are the goals of the centre’s research and development efforts, including establishing an ecosystem. The Thai government is optimistic about the future of AI because of the nature and effectiveness of the different projects being done to integrate AI into their National Development Plans. The “Knowledge Engineering and Agricultural Cyber Brain” is just one example of how Thailand’s AI sector has impacted the country’s economy since the early 2010s.

Additionally, the Artificial Intelligence Governance Clinic was recently released by the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) of Thailand. (AIGC). The Clinic is teaming up with ETDA’s Academy of Digital Transformation to supply tools for capacity building on all scales. In addition to having specialists from many countries ready to offer advice on AI policy and governance, the AIGC also maintains a sizable library of information sources on relevant subjects.

Despite its challenges in creating AI capabilities, Thailand is working to build the human capability and skills necessary for an AI ecosystem. Therefore, they established a formalised network and partnership. To close the disparity between academic and industrial experts, Thailand will implement systematic educational programmes in Thai colleges to educate the next generation of AI specialists.
