The second edition of the four-day Vietnam International Digital Week 2023 has kicked off, heralding a series of pivotal discussions and engagements set to reshape ASEAN’s technological landscape.

This multifaceted programme features an array of conferences, seminars, and forums uniting representatives from ASEAN member nations, alongside their dialogue partners, management agencies, associations, and businesses.

Expectations are high as these diverse stakeholders converge to exchange invaluable insights on an extensive spectrum of topics. From policy planning and development strategies to the critical domains of technology, human resources, and more, the discussions aim to uncover innovative solutions addressing the paramount challenges and opportunities presented by the digital technology era.

Underlining the significance of this event, Chairman Cao Tuong Huy of the provincial People’s Committee emphasised its role as a platform for local entities to glean wisdom from ministers and international organisations. These insights delve deep into the implementation of digital transformation, with a specific focus on digital government, digital economy, and digital society development.

Furthermore, the gathering provides an exceptional avenue for both domestic and international enterprises to forge connections and form partnerships. This collaborative effort aims to jointly explore and advance artificial intelligence (AI) applications, showcasing Vietnam’s strides in AI development to a global audience.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung of Information and Communications stressed the dichotomy of opportunities and challenges stemming from AI development. The pivotal decisions regarding AI’s usage and regulation will significantly shape the trajectory of the future.

In the expansive framework of the Vietnam International Digital Week 2023, participating delegates are poised to centre their discussions on fostering technological cooperation. Key focus areas include the proliferation of artificial intelligence applications, 5G advancement, and the exchange of experiences in bolstering digital infrastructure for efficient digital governance and cyber safety.

Highlighting the event’s commencement was a roundtable conference spotlighting the development and application of narrow AI, setting the stage for dynamic and forward-thinking deliberations throughout this landmark event.

In the same vein as the Vietnam International Digital Week 2023, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue has inaugurated its own Digital Transformation Week – Hue 2023. Embracing the overarching theme of “building digital data and promoting regional connectivity,” this initiative marks a significant stride towards advancing technological integration and innovation within the region.

Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh of the provincial People’s Committee, Thua Thien-Hue has emerged as a frontrunner in the digital transformation realm. The province has actively championed initiatives fostering electronic and digital government frameworks, smart urban development, and the proficient management and utilisation of diverse data sources across multiple sectors.

With a proactive outlook, officials aim to leverage the Digital Transformation Week – Hue 2023 to heighten public consciousness regarding digital transformation. Seeking insights from experts, they endeavour to fine-tune and adapt the region’s digital transformation strategies for future endeavours. Moreover, this event is positioned as a pivotal platform to attract potential investors keen on participating in the province’s burgeoning digital landscape.

Comprising over 20 dynamic activities encompassing exhibitions, seminars, and the prestigious VietFuture Awards ceremony, the week-long event anticipates hosting over 2,000 delegates and visitors. Of particular significance is the plenary session themed around “building digital data – promoting regional connectivity,” drawing the expertise of more than 50 leading digital transformation experts, agency leaders, and business visionaries.

An integral component of this transformative event is the technology exhibition, spotlighting local digital transformation utilities and cutting-edge solutions from esteemed tech giants alongside pioneering startup technology innovations. This collective showcase serves as a testament to the province’s commitment to harnessing technological advancements for societal progress and economic growth.
