In an impactful move, Union Minister of State for Science & Technology, and MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh, unveiled the state-of-the-art “Aarogya-Doctors on Wheels”, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) supported Telemedicine Mobile Clinic designed for the challenging terrains of the remote hilly areas in the Ramnagar region of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir.
This advanced Tele Clinic, driven by Artificial Intelligence, is strategically positioned to address the healthcare needs of far-flung regions where conventional facilities are either absent or insufficient. Dr Singh emphasised that “Aarogya” operates on a cutting-edge methodology, allowing patients to articulate their health concerns in their native language, with the AI doctor comprehending and responding in the same language.
Dr Jitendra Singh elaborated on the seamless process, stating that after the initial consultation, patients are connected to leading super specialists across the country, thanks to tie-ups with prominent hospitals. The telemedicine hospital conducts comprehensive body-profiling and investigations, providing patients with prescriptions within 40 to 50 minutes, and all treatments are delivered free of cost.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to extending healthcare to the remotest corners, Dr Singh affirmed that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to leverage cutting-edge technology for widespread healthcare accessibility.
The initiative has undergone successful phases in areas like Gandoh, district Doda, Zero Line villages along the International Border, and the upper reaches of Bilawar. The upcoming fourth phase is scheduled for Dudu Basantgarh in the upper reaches of Ramnagar block in Udhampur.
Dr Jitendra Singh urged the local community to embrace this transformative healthcare facility, highlighting that this super-speciality hospital is bringing doctors directly to their doorsteps, marking a significant stride in leveraging technology for inclusive healthcare.
